Falling Rock Canyon is Wonderful

    Falling Rock Road is located along Hwy 44 just west of Rapid City about 5 miles.  It is important

because the scenic views are easily accessable.   It is not that easy to find  scenic views in the Black

Hills because trees are not trimmed at roadside pullouts.  You will find much better pictures if you do

some hiking.   Because of the easy access I have a greater variety of pictures of this canyon.  

    The hike to Rapid Creek about 1,000 feet below makes for a pleasant afternoon hike of about

two hours round-trip.   The return to the rim is moderately strenuous as the trail is rather steep in places.
